House Hunters

Heaven forbid we have to continue looking for a house.  But this one fell through. .  .

Our mortgage guy has a sign in his office that says, "No Reason, Just Rules."  This place has our offer on it (for the asking price), as well as one even higher and it will be forclosed upon on the 12th of next month.   NO REASON.

Heaven seems on our side because Jason and I were ready to build.  EEEK!  The Good Lord knew I'd be lonely when my children and husband left me because of my bad attitude.  So it was this or that.

I'm no hippy, but I am fundamentally opposed to subdividing open land, especially when there are so many houses on the market.  HOWEVER, have you seen these houses?  After about the 70th one, my realtor's down to $5.00/hr and it leaves me wondering if I'm not normal for expecting to be able to stand up straight in my laundry room and guest bath, or for preferring not to have my guests walk into the basement of our house because there's no front entrance.

But if it's between commuting to my marriage and building a house on some corn farmer's field, the farmer's going to get the raw end.

So today, in a last ditch effort to rule out every home on the MLS in Utah County, we found these two gems.  Either one would make me giddy!

Which would you choose?

ohhh the second one looks so charming and "utah cabin". i love those windows. my husband would flip out about the deck being so high off the ground... he is so scared about our kids falling off of things.

and the first one looks perfect for riding bikes and hanging out with neighbors...

hope you guys find something you love!

I like these second ones wayyyy more than the first one (which looks like too many other Ut Co homes).

The first one is cool retro 50s/60s, and I love that mid-century funkiness. The second one makes me really want to go in and see the floor plan...

I vote for the 2nd one. I love the deck and big windows. Good luck with either one.

I think they both look beautiful but the second one looks more your style to me. Fingers crossed that you get excellent news in the near future!

Sorry, but I totally agree with Kazzy that the first house (one that fell through) looks way to much like every other house in Utah County. Not your classy style. Of the other two, which are WAY better looking on the outside, which has the best floor plan? Also, where are they located? That could definitely sway my opinion. Mapleton???

I love the deck on the 2nd one. But my practical side says go for the 2-car garage!! Probably because that is on top of my must list for when we abandon our shack.... in 20 years.
