Breaking Ground

Next cheer-me-up post. Our garden! We decided to forgo (sp?) the gas powered tiller and we got down and dirty and worked the land. It's almost May 1st, so in about a month we should be through with snowy weather scares (just kidding). But honestly, tomorrow snow is in the forecast!

My most coveted plant... the bean. Guess what is the only thing in my inside container starter garden that is not sprouting...the bean. Oh well. We'll try starting them outside next week.
Isaac's favorite part was finding worms (wooms).

Liv loved switching tools every two minutes and shouting orders.

She really is my best helper though, she loves being a little mom.

George spent most of her time looking for work gloves. She's used to seeing my mom and dad with them, and Jason always has them help with woodworking, so he finds them some gloves. Notice she has her winter gloves. :)

Just keep swimmin, just keep swimmin...

I'm kind of depressed because our bestest friends are on their way to Seattle tomorrow a.m. So, I'm going to get my handy little camera out that has been neglected for too long. I'll see what's on here and post a few to keep my mind off of our sad good-bye.

First up, some field trips we took with Grandma & Grandpa...
The State Capitol Renovation
Grandma volunteered at the open-house and we got to do some engineering...
and some laboring.
Then, a trip to Discovery Gateway to learn some science. Everyone's favorite part - The giant machine that showed food being chewed, digested, and pooped out - yes, fake poop. (Through a plexi-glass tube. We're not barbarians).

Movie Stars

My kids don't watch very much t.v., but we do love movies. When Jason gets home from work some nights after jammies, we watch a movie til bedtime.

Our very favorite at the moment...

Nacho Libre!

or, as translated into English by our children,

Nacho Breebray!

Pictured (by Liv), is the scene in which Nacho's sidekick, Steven tries to hand him one of Mexico's famous corn on a stick (with mayo, chile powder and cheese Jason told me...he ate it on his mission like crazy), and Nacho says, "git dat corn out of my fess." My kids quote it all day long :)

We have been approved for another adoption through LDS Family Services. I wonder how long it will be before there is a new member of the family?
Boy or Girl?
Blonde or Black?
Easy going or Feisty?
Near or Far?
How exciting! I've noticed though that the excitement has come in small spurts when there's a breather in-between all of the family activity.

Jammin

Today I made strawberry jam. I got a wild hair and bought some strawberries and spent the next 3 hours making jam. It cost about $15.00 for 10 jars (1 broke). It was so worth it to me. I am feeling domestic.
I may be nesting. We are almost expecting. We get our home-study next monday, 5:45. Then we get approved and our file gets sent out!!!
Pray for our birth parents and our new baby...wherever you are!

Liv and the Powwow

I am Head Person in Charge of Liv's Fan Club. She is so darling. When she gets nervous she sticks out her tongue. If she knows you're watching her, even if she hopes you're watching her, out comes the tongue. When she was a baby she would spit when she got REAL nervous.

At the powwow (any powwow, but this happened to be U of U), she loves to dance, but she's still a bit unsure of herself. I think that's part of who she is. I hope we can teach her to be confident and proud. Liv, hold your head up high, tongue in!

Sweet pigeon-toed, tongue-sticker-outer Liv, so awkward and beautiful at the same time. She's one of those girls who hopes she's beautiful, she really wants to be beautiful and liked, and she has no idea how much she really is.

When she forgets to care, this is the fabulous butterfly that comes to life. She is such a princess.

Latin Chants

I am starting to teach latin to my class tomorrow.

sing this to that Mexican tune...da-da da-da da-da....da da-da-da-da da-da...da-da da-da da-da...da da-da da-da da-da. he he he you're trying to figure it out right now, huh?

Anyway, I'm watching this dvd from www.classicalacademicpress.com Latin For Children.

This chant to that Mexican song has run through my head at least 12,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times since last night:

"amo, amas, amat, amamus, amatis, amant. repeat. amo, I love, amas, you love, amat heee is loooving, amamus, we love, amatis youalllove, amant (strech it out), they are loving."

It must be effective, because for the rest of my life I'll never stop chanting that in my brain.

Neato speedo that they are learning Latin! That I am learning Latin!

BYU Powwow

Isaac & Liv gettin jiggy w/ it
J and Bone Singing
Whistling while he works. He truly enjoys making all this stuff. In the attitudde of sleeping. She started rolling this paper (typical George), and fell right asleep.
Naloni even got in on the action. She's a natural.

Isaac's New Digs

Uncle Colt and Aunt Lisa are the perfect family members for a little boy like Isaac.

1. Athletic

2. Fun

3. Air Force Pilots

4. Great taste in clothing

What a lucky boy!
