Dog Tired

I am DOG TIRED today. I dropped off I and Liv and headed for Gold's for my first workout in about a year :)

Next, the baby girls and I went to a FABULOUS new grocery store in Orem called Sunflower or something or other. Lots of organics and best of all, a spicy(ish) shrimp roll (sushi) for Isaac and I to have for lunch.

Got home after picking up the Iceman and got out the big ladders while I talked on the phone with Sarah (she always seems to be on the phone with me during large/dangerous projects), while hanging a gutter on my porch so you can come visit me without getting dripped upon.

It occurred to me while doing said job that the plumber needs to see that my faucet spits rather than flows. News: tear down the walls and re-build after 65 year old plumbing is replaced. My mom said, "OH GOOD! I'll come and help you!" lol. She just wants to get her hot little hands on some awesome glass and/or subway tile. Me too. If only I can afford it!

Finally, as this time of year calls for, I felt another urgency to accomplish something before the cold sets in.

So I dug a hole (I'll show you tomorrow. I'm too tired to get out the camera). I dug a hole about 18 inches deep and about 3' x 3'. Enter the home teacher. Brother Gurney (and his puppy Zoe). He suggested I call the Strong's down the lane and ask for their pick-axe. Twenty minutes later he rounded the corner sans puppy and helped me double the depth and pull out the stubborn topiary tree in the corner. Later this week we should have a new master bedroom window and a huge ugly mess to clean up off of the new carpet after the concrete cutter finishes.

The moral of the story is: My husband told me not to dig. I dug. Why? you ask. To save money and exercise.

See, here is how it breaks down.

COST:

rent a small backhoe- $100-ish?

dig hole myself (and Bro. Gurney, of course)- $0? (pizza afterward (2 actually, with breadsticks and cinnasticks *thank goodness for Pizza Hut online ordering*) $30.00. Thank-you gift for Bro. Gurney's help $10-ish =$40.00

Savings: nothing... After I have my nails re-done and buy new shoes since I was too lazy to put the work shoes on.

CALORIES BURNED:

340/hr. = 1200 calories

Pizza + Ranch dressing + Cinnasticks + frosting dip (my brother is now throwing up in his brown rice and chicken breast) = 1040 calories

64 oz of soda = 600 calories ugggh!

So see, it all works out in the end! Truth is, there is nothing like going to bed physically exhausted. My dad taught me that. AND...the dog pictured above is probably named Brandy and if NOT, her stripper owner IS.

A Must Read

If you do nothing else today, read this story and do everything in your power to emulate this family.

Of course I cried when I read it too. Wow.

-I technically don't have any sisters, but I do. (you know who you are) And they would do the same above and beyond for me.

-I don't believe my husband would speak so fondly of me, but he will once I pull the charm out of my hiney (sp?) and use it on him again. But I don't do red lipstick.

-My kids though, my kids would cry and hold my (non-existent) picture and miss me so terribly. My parents would spoil them beyond repair.

what do you think would happen to you and yours?

New Blog

I will finally stop boring you with my shoots and post them here from now on.

Evening Prayers

Tonite Isaac prayed for "the sickness" so you'll probably wake up with a strong case of the flu.
But,
He also prayed for "the affected" so you'll get well soon.

While I was out...

While looking for my toothpaste photo I came accross this loaded picture.

Oh the memories. I wish I had mine now. I would seriously wear it. Do you remember collecting anything and everything that could possibly be immortalized in plastic? Somehow something tasteful, say like silver just doesn't do it for me now. Oh how I long for my charms.

So charming. Officially on my Christmas list.

Hot Air

Tonight Georgia called for help getting toothpaste. When I walked in I naturally went for the kids' toothpaste and started to squeeze.
"NO!" she shouted. "I want the one that makes hot air."
She held up my toothpaste.

That, my friends is where it comes from. I'm switching to bubblegum Crest in the morning.

What once was New is New again?

Oh yes.

You asked for it. Ask and ye shall recieve. The one, the only...

Maybe now my mom will let me go. I literally bawled my like Mae when she said I was too young. Then my best friend Di had to rub it in that she attended. It was bad enough that she got some poor shmucks to trade for front row tickets at the Nelson concert and caught a flying guitar pick.

Joe, if you're reading this in cyberspace, I love you. I always have. I have learned to re-love my mom after she kept us apart. Has it really been 17 years? Seems like yesterday. Alas, I had to move on. Who knew we'd have a second chance. I can't live my life betting on second chances. Will I be there? Oh, you mean November 15th at 8:00 pm at the E-Center? I've just now filled the whole you've left in me. Don't look at me that way. I don't think I can do it...I'm sorry

I must end this entry. I may lose readership-you remember how it is with some people {Haters}.

Another Late Night

Here I am again, editing at midnight. But I had to show off my babe. She has got to be the single most beautiful thing you've ever seen. I wonder if you can tell she was sick? For the FIRST time in her life, the day I sneak in to Jason's video studio to use the lights. I tried to help the miniature circles under her eyes. I had to have a shot like this because I've got one of everyone so far though never done by me, yeah!!! I feel terrible now, looking back on poor Siena's pics, taken with a spotlight in a bedroom at my house. Wendy, if you're up to it I'll sneak into that studio again :)

You can tell by the last two pics that the studio lights (ours are hot lights), cast a yellow glow. I had to correct it in editor, guess I need to do some more on these!

I Promised

I promised some folks I'd have these posted last night, but alas I was editing at 2:30 and decided I must sleep before I could coherently continue. It's just too much fun once you get going.
So, here you go!

{Miss Jayci} For her 1st Birthday

And

{the boys - Spencer & Jack}

Funny story, these little guys belong to the first friend I ever made here in the good 'ol U to the tah. Rachel Madsen. We did all sorts of dumb things that 11 year olds do, and we did it all together. I'll never forget the time I asked her if Mormons believe in birth control ~ I here they don't you know~ She asked her mom (who has 22 children). Just kidding, they only had 7 I think, maybe 9. Anyway, after moving here and there, she ended up in Mayberry (Springville). AND get this, her husband (who I also went to school with), works for the law firm my Aunt works for (where I worked while I dated my husband and went to school. I was a TERRIBLE employee :)). Small, small world.

The Kinross Family

This week I sent an e-mail pleading for help from one of my photo idols. Then I took it back. I did some thinking today, as I prepare for some sessions I set up to get some practice. I think what my biggest problem is....is envy. I want to be just as cool and creative in photo (or anything for that matter), as some of the heros I've collected. Truth is, if I were as neato-speedo as they were I probably would be looking for new heros. So, I've come to the conclusion that I just need to stick it out, find my OWN voice and hopefully when I do I own it and have some pride in it. So, be on the look out for that and drop me some hints if you think you know in which direction I head- I sure don't.

Anway, without further adooooo, the Kinross' (who's hardworking, repectful, freckle-faced sons and daughter I've already dibsed (sp?) for the holy matrimony of each of my darlings {if they don't take a Carvajal or a Roundy or a Strong, or a...}. So get your own). The first of many dry-runs this week. *thanks Jane for letting us use your pretty-enough-to-be-a-backdrop yard*

Looky there, I've already discovered some other edits I want to do while creating this post.

Pray for me. Tomorrow I'm in Jason's video studio trying to make it work as a photo studio. No pressure, just a baby's 1st b-day photos and another baby's blessing photos. yeah.

Quote of the Day:A government that is big enough to give you all you want is big enough to take it all away.Barry Goldwater

Dear Mr. Obama,

Please, please back out of this. You probably have enough money to live happily with your wife and kids in some resort community in the Florida Keys. If you refuse...

#1 Don't "Spread the wealth", I want my wealth, I like it and it's mine, I (or Jason more precisely) work for. Go get your own and leave mine alone. If my friends and neighbors or yours want more wealth more power to them. Their legs aren't broken (and even if they were, there are lots of jobs that don't require the use of your legs).

#2 While we're on the subject of broken legs. I am in the process of applying for health insurance. Nope, I don't have any at the moment. I am one of those _______million Americans without health insurance. I pay out of pocket. I am still kicking. O.K., I'll say this slowly. Get on a computer. Google "health insurance", fill out personal information on application forms. Get a reply. Get on with your life. See #1 if you think you can't afford healthcare.

#3When I tell my children's doctor that I'm paying out of pocket, I magically get 75% off their listed prices that my insurance company would pay. Do you see what I'm saying? How 'bout someone jumping on that bandwagon? Maybe then those _________million Americans could afford health insurance without you getting involved.

#4 Introduce us to your friends. I've heard rumors around the halls about this clique you hang out with. I need to meet them so I know if I approve or not.

#5 EVERY CHILD IS A BLESSING. I think mine are the only type you "pay" for and they are priceless.

Mr. McCain, I'll speak to you later.

October Projects

These magnificent specimen came from my neighbor's grape vines which conveniently drape over my side of the fence.

Also Convenient, she is nice and she has a juicer. (remind me to tell you about her sometime, she's awesome)

Y Voila! After a few hundred burns and baked on grape juice on the stovetop, we make grape juice and grape jelly (which still hasn't set up, eeek)

On to the next project...

I am super proud of this one. Bought the cool frame/mobile at Ikea. AMAZING LOOKING. The backside of the letters are number cards, also found at Ikea. I have yet to find a "c" for Isaac, but when I do...oooooh buddy.

Mae-toes darling letters. And! Check out the birds/ornaments I found at Ikea to enhance the mobile a bit.
