Wind Through Her Hair

13.1

That's my new Indian name.  I gave it to myself.  In case you're new around here, I'm entitled.  My husband and kids have adopted me into their tribe.

Anywho, that's not what this is all about.  Just got done running.  I went by myself because I was supposed to go this  morning but it was much to slick for my taste.  It's good to go alone once in awhile because I can then perfect my farmer blow without embarrassment.  It's even better to go with someone who does this as a way of life.  It gives me the extra threat of embarrassment and the urge to push myself so that someday my endurance may come within 1/10th of hers.  Thanks eternally Edris!

Can't feel my thighs because I think it was 21 degrees below zero.  These heifers still don't move much, but they create a friction that sends heat down through my calves and into my feet, which keeps me running that much longer in the cold.

I spent more time running (than walking) this time around.  Mostly because I thought someone was behind me most of the way and it takes a lot of energy to whip your head around with enough authority to put off whatever serial rapist is in pursuit.  Kudos to me for being stupid enough to do it several times before I realized that the combination of moonlight and streetlight create 4 shadows instead of one, and I was chasing myself.  That way I got more exercise.  It does remind me of the website graphics I used to do for my husband for some security products companies.  They wanted "simple elegant" graphics of someone getting tazed and a couple strands of barbed wire running crosswise, just so.  But I digress.

I think I better retire these running shoes which are 4 years old but have seen only a week and a half of street running.  They've done enough to make my toes numb, and I won't lose a toe.  Can't support these thighs with only 9.

Wub is What Bwings us Togeva To de'

We saw some of these in a mall window in Seattle for $250!!! Somebody *see P.S. in Seattle just spent $247.50 too much on their Valentine party hat.

You're probably celebrating Valentine's Day today. Not I.

Which takes me back to July 4th 1999.

Married for almost 1 year, we found ourselves packing up our groceries while Stadium of Fire was in full swing about 1/2 mile away.

"I'm tired of mediocre holidays!" I said.

And never again have more genius words been uttered. Holidays now last about a week at our house.

Back to live programming...

Wednesday my date took me to Fleming's Steakhouse at the Gateway. We dined burgeois (boozhwah), style. Then he took me to Anthropologie for some new digs.

Thursday was Liv and George's night on the town. They had "karate food" (habachi).

Does having all your owls in a row count?

Isaac had a date with me and these Valentine's which were supposed to be robots. Couldn't make it happen. "Whooo's Your Valentine?" Isaac Dial ;)

This is what we did for Liv, minus the goofy face stickers.

Today is Isaac's birthday, but yesterday we celebrated with some boys by climbing at The Quarry and eating at Doc's. Thanks to Ryder for the marshmallow gun and the advice, "But you can't spit in it or the marshmallows won't come out." Due to the volume of marshmallows consumed by Chloe and Mae from our floor, the gun has yet to be jammed.

Tonite the whole crew (my bro-in-laws and their proctor boys) dined on J's smoked pork and brisket. 11 hours of attention to a bbq.
Now that's love.
*P.S. If you read this the day it was posted you'll note that I used a different word after "some" in this sentence. After a rousing talk from our Bishop and Stake President (church leaders), at church I've decided on a nicer word.

Seattle Gral's Trip

Thanks Jaxson and Liam!

(Not pictured, Sarah and Bethany)

6 women on a mission to bring some sunshine to the seventh who is heavy (yet petite), with child(ren).

I packed my workout clothes so as to get on the treadmill or run in the temperance of Seattle. Turns out that the effort was completely wasted. We laughed so much that I was exhausted by the time I turned in each night.

I nearly killed us in the eleventh hour of our roadtrip (descending into Seattle from the mountains), when Valerie played this on her ipod. Imagine explaining that to the police. "I dunno..."

This was shortly after the 75 year old waitress at Mel's Diner in Yakima insinuated that tomotoes on Eggs Benedict is nasty. She opened herself up when she asked where she should put them.

Another friend (with better sense), Bethany arrived via Seatac a couple hours later and the party really started. Within the first 5 minutes we established what someone (who shall not be named) used as criteria for making out with someone when he was a teenager.

1. Are you a woman?

2. Have you always been a woman?

3. Can you keep a secret.

The longevity of this joke in Seattle is incredible.

That night after dinner we spent 29 hours (and probably $80), figuring out how to skirt the $40/day parking fee at the Marriott and finally made our way back to the hotel. The "steaming man-holes" sparked the next outburst.

Followed by a steaming man-hole from two businessmen who exited the elevator before we got on. Poor Bethany was in such a state that she could not leap screaming from the trap before the doors enclosed her in the bathroom/elevator.

I was honestly afraid that Sarah would give birth to the babies at the Marriott if we didn't lay off. Sunday was pretty painful for her because of us I think.

But Sunday is also when I discovered this gem from the shots at Pike's Market.

Followed by...

Dang I'm good. Looks like he was pretty effective too.

But we had a fabulous baby shower at an Indian restaurant (yes, an Indian restaurant. It was the best I could do).

It was a "hoot"!

And this is the "thanks" we get???

I also got a wonderful birthday party on Sunday with the whole Carvajal crew and the ladies. And this is the THANKS! you get.
