Seattle Gral's Trip

Thanks Jaxson and Liam!

(Not pictured, Sarah and Bethany)

6 women on a mission to bring some sunshine to the seventh who is heavy (yet petite), with child(ren).

I packed my workout clothes so as to get on the treadmill or run in the temperance of Seattle. Turns out that the effort was completely wasted. We laughed so much that I was exhausted by the time I turned in each night.

I nearly killed us in the eleventh hour of our roadtrip (descending into Seattle from the mountains), when Valerie played this on her ipod. Imagine explaining that to the police. "I dunno..."

This was shortly after the 75 year old waitress at Mel's Diner in Yakima insinuated that tomotoes on Eggs Benedict is nasty. She opened herself up when she asked where she should put them.

Another friend (with better sense), Bethany arrived via Seatac a couple hours later and the party really started. Within the first 5 minutes we established what someone (who shall not be named) used as criteria for making out with someone when he was a teenager.

1. Are you a woman?

2. Have you always been a woman?

3. Can you keep a secret.

The longevity of this joke in Seattle is incredible.

That night after dinner we spent 29 hours (and probably $80), figuring out how to skirt the $40/day parking fee at the Marriott and finally made our way back to the hotel. The "steaming man-holes" sparked the next outburst.

Followed by a steaming man-hole from two businessmen who exited the elevator before we got on. Poor Bethany was in such a state that she could not leap screaming from the trap before the doors enclosed her in the bathroom/elevator.

I was honestly afraid that Sarah would give birth to the babies at the Marriott if we didn't lay off. Sunday was pretty painful for her because of us I think.

But Sunday is also when I discovered this gem from the shots at Pike's Market.

Followed by...

Dang I'm good. Looks like he was pretty effective too.

But we had a fabulous baby shower at an Indian restaurant (yes, an Indian restaurant. It was the best I could do).

It was a "hoot"!

And this is the "thanks" we get???

I also got a wonderful birthday party on Sunday with the whole Carvajal crew and the ladies. And this is the THANKS! you get.

Girls Being Girls

Miss Livs and I decided on a little r&r at the pedicure palace in the mall last Saturday. She felt quite grown up as they put three pillows behind her bony little back and the Asian women told her she was so tall for her age. She chose a lovely shade of purple "with sparklies". We proceeded to scour the mall in our temporary footwear.
