Ani

Lisa and Kari (her adorable sister) bought a bunch of tickets to Ani Difranco. In a nutshell, she's a feminist "folk" singer who Lisa said a lot of people thought was gay, but since she's now pregnant the cat's out of the bag.

It was great! So many hippies and lesbians in one spot. The people watching was fabulous. Lisa's mom and I hung out and watched the hippies dance and the chicks make out (not really), and Ani Difranco is really a brilliant woman. Her lyrics and some poetry she did was incredible.

I wonder what she'd do if she knew there was a Mormon chick digging her stuff in the
audience!? ...

on her home page she says, "i speak without reservation from what i know and who i am. i do so with the understanding that all people should have the right to offer their voice to the chorus whether the result is harmony or dissonance, the worldsong is a colorless dirge without the differences that distinguish us, and it is that difference which should be celebrated not condemned. should any part of my music offend you, please do not close your ears to it. just take what you can use and go on."

I got a tank top to dance in that says "righteous" on the front and on the back it says "righteous babe".

See my links. She has her own label, "Righteous Babe Records". I'll see if Lisa can send me some pics from the concert.

So You Think You Can Dance?

We're finally back!

I sequestered myself from anyone who may even remotely know anything about "So You Think You Can Dance" so I could watch the finale. It's the first thing I did when we got back.

GO TRAVIS!

Who won? Not Travis! But, a cute mormon kid who has a sweet spirit. he he he!

Di said I remind her of Mary Murphy, a judge. Not sure how to take that. She screams a lot and has funny teeth. I hope it's not the smile, or my parents wasted a lot of money on 5 years of braces and 4 bridges~

I'm going to try to start a group of "older" chicks dancing. We need a cool name. Any ideas? I'm going to start to advertise for members next week. I'll keep you posted. Evidently I still think I can dance.

More to come on Seattle, it was the heat! BAM BABY! (that's Isaac's favorite expression
)

Sleeping Beauty and the Beasts

My kids are crazy. Literally. And especially Georgia. You'd never know the insanity of trying to get her into this bed (to stay) to take a nap. She was not happy about flying the coop (crib). She's ok now. It's been about a week. She's like me, she values her sleep. When she finally realized she was losing sleep as a result of her actions she shut up. I started her in her own bed earlier than the others. I probably should have waited til she was there size when they were switched, but I think sleeping in a crib is a bit embarassing for a teen. Little squirt!

Olivia is a beautiful beast as well. Here she is posing in Uncle Colt & Almost Aunt Lisa's wedding apparel. She loves to be pretty.

Then~she and Isaac got hold of my camera, got it on, and took pictures. This time Isaac's posing. Nice shot! Jason told me to hold onto these for when she's shooting for Vogue or National Geographic. I think these can be used in National Geographic..."Native Wildlife of Utah". Posted by Picasa

Chop Chop

I have committed to Jason to stop cooking nasty meals and to cook every night (almost)...
See my Fabulous Recipes Links! Fried Green Tomatoes are the bomb!!!
Go TRAVIS on "So You Think You Can Dance"!!!

Oh Boobee!

Olivia, you funky little chick!

Thank-you for always asking if you can help me.

I love how you tell Isaac off when he says something, "ugly".

You tell me you love me at least once a day. I think you even mean it!

You imagine all the time. Isaac's your dog...I'm "your majesty"...You're going to work...You need "cheeky sace"
for your princess dress.

You'll try anything at least once. You love to fly, swing, climb, etc. Thus the scar on your cheek.

You're a demanding little terd. You're the one always asking for something to drink, eat, color. If I say "no", you always counter, "Maybe tomorrow?"

Your dad always tells you, "Maybe tomorrow." One day you said, "Daddy, can I help you...TODAY!"

You enjoy your sparkly teeth.

I've never seen anyone enjoy shaking her booty more than you!

You always want to sit in "the chair" when we get in the car. But, you're gracious when it's not your turn.

If we're watching "So You Think You Can Dance", and I say, "Oh, I love him!" You always say, "No, you love Daddy!"

You're a sweet, funny little bugger, we love you!!!

Oh Buddy!

Mr. Isaac, you big stud! Look at you go.

You are the greatest super hero to walk the earth...

You can spew spider webs (and spit in your enemy's eye at the same time "spsss")

You throw your body around like a rag doll.

You run 5 mph, but your little legs go in fast forward.

You can charm the socks off of any chick bad guys.

You're a master
prayer now. You always bless the donuts and pizza. We haven't eaten donuts or pizza in weeks, but we're covered next time we do.

You think you're it when you hang out with "the boys" and/or drum.

Thank-you so much for eating brocolli and asparagus with me just because you believe me when I tell you it makes you strong! You even ate fried green tomatoes with me the other day...FABULOUS!

You may not always be the first to try something new, but you're the first one to take it to the next level. You're going to be an amazing athlete!

You tell me girls kiss your face when you go to church. I'm going to have my eye on you. You little charming devil.

You're everyone's favorite kid! xoxoxo We love you!

Oh Baby!

Georgia Sue, you crazy chick. What can I say? A picture says 1,000!

Thank-you for saying, "Tet-tu", and "kelcum" to everyone.

Stop taking your hair out in the car!

Stop taking your shoes off in the car!

You have a cold right now, so you call from your crib "mbob!" when you wake up.

You eat more than our entire extended family put together, and you weigh less than one of my thighs!

Grandpa says your hair looks like "Jim" from "Taxi".

Grandma punches him when he says it.

You pull Olivia's hair all the time, and last week you bit her cheek!

You are the biggest bully in the store, nursery, house, world.

When we're in the car and Isaac or Liv say, "I want juice (or ice-cream, or nuggets, or pizza...), you say, "NO!". I make them say it over and over again to hear you boss them around you little squirt!

You can eat a Krispy Kreme donut in 3.5 milliseconds. (and you know what the box looks like!)

Olivia tries to pick you up and cart you around. Sometimes you let her. Then you bite her cheek.

You are the funniest kid ever born. We love you!

Spanish Fork for "Beach"

We went to Spanish Fork Resevoir for a change. (We usually go to Seven Peaks). Georgia wore her polka dot bikini. She looked adorable.

Liam and Georgia have started a secret handshake. Well, it's secret to Liam. He grabs Georgias hands and turns them palm up. Then she starts to protest and he puts his finger to his mouth and "shhh". She complies and they spend the next hour or so playing quite nicely together. We've witnessed it 3 times since we went camping last week.

Isaac makes a statement in his hot swimwear!

This is just a shot of some flowers I did for Lisa's shower. It was so fun and the food was incredible. She got around $400.00 to spend on Pampered Chef! What a lucky girl! We can't wait til the wedding!!!!! Posted by Picasa

Pioneer Weekend Camping

This holiday (in Utah) weekend we went camping for a night in Hobble Creek Canyon. We found a great sight with water and toilets (a must right now).

Apparently Olivia was a bit crazed when she got behind the wheel, but no one was hurt!

Isaac & Jaxson have become "buddies" in the last couple of weeks. Meaning, they know they are boys and Olivia's a girl. She hasn't felt left out yet, but we'll see...

Georgia had her first camping trip at the same age as the other kids. She loved it for the same reason, DIRT. She didn' t have to be clean until bedtime.

It's a Bird, it's a Plane, it's...all the kids looking up at the sky. We didn't have to make anyone smile!

Eat Dirt!

Georgia is fond of playing in our planters' soil. Apparently while I was getting lunch she started eating without us. But hey, "God made dirt and dirt don't hurt!"

Make Some Noise!
Sarah & I have been going to the gym at 11 pm after Hazel's last feeding. Well, I had a bright idea of having Di's sister, Brenda, teach us one of her dances so we could dance while we were there. So, I take my kitchen radio and we do cardio and then go dance. I made the mistake of telling Jason about our workout schedule and he freaked! "You walk into the gym with that Walmart radio?!" He was mortified that I would walk into the gym carrying a boom box. He asked me not to go to the Orem gym, but to stay small in Provo. So, for our 8th anniversary, July 10th, I honor him with a presence in our evening workouts. He got a good kick out of this one!

Isaac's New $665.00, $45.00 Bed

This week we went out to try to find some new puzzles and books for the nursery at church. In the meantime I found this awesome red bunk bed for Isaac. Promptly after buying the bed I left my wallet in the shopping cart. I was on a church errand. My wallet had $620.00 in it. All of which was tithing. The bishop came over and I explained what had happened. He said, "Well, I suppose now that money is cursed!" Whoever is spending that money...I just don't know. I feel worse for them than for me!

However, Isaac loves his bed and since we put it up last night, so far Olivia's only fallen off of it once. Notice the "planets" in the foreground. Isaac's almost aunt Lisa got them for him. He loves them!

R & R

Grandma & Grandpa's house is so relaxing and mellow. Even Olivia finds solice in the front yard on the chair cushion. We love to go up to play, but most of all we get to rest and leave the chaos behind for a minute! The swings in the front yard are a favorite of every baby we've picked up over the years! The Big, Big Birthday!

Olivia's Birthday was over the top! She had a parade in the a.m., a carnival and bbq in the afternoon, went to see "Cars" with the Jackson girls (who surprised us at the carnival on the way to their grandma's house in Ephraim), and fireworks and a sleepover that night!!! Next year if Art City Days isn't on her birthday weekend we're going to have a lot of splainin to do.

Olivia started a ballet class through Springville City. I was worried about it because when she talks about jingle dancing at the pow wows she always says, "but I don't dance myself, daddy dance with me." But, it seems as long as she doesn't see me she does great. I walked in at the end of the class and the teacher was passing off the new skill of the day, a plie'. Well, when it was Olivia's turn she told her to do a plie' and Olivia proceeded to shake what her mama gave her (which isn't much at all). So the teacher asked her to do a
plie' again. She thought for a second and did the same little booty shake. It was so cute! So the teacher finally had to get up and show her what she wanted. It looks like not only can she do ballet, but some form of hip-hop. I just knew she'd take after me!

We went to Grandma & Grandpa's house this weekend to putter around. We went yard saling with grandma and hit the jackpot! We got tons of clothes for Sarah's baby, Hazel, and some things for Adrienne's soon to be new addition. We also got a pile of shutters for $20 which work on both my house and Grandma's. I got a brand new two-burner camp stove for $5.00, my mom bought me some toille shaded lamps for $10.00 which perfeclty fit my guest room. We got a Little Tykes boat for $1.00, I got a composter for $5.00 and my mom got an exercise machine for $15.00. We had so much fun.

When we got home grandpa was irrigating. There was a waterfall coming down the hill in front of the house. I ran and got some plastic and Isaac and Liv slid down in the freezing cold water for a while. Well, we got busy putting up shutters and next thing we know, Isaac and Liv are dragging their new boat up the hill so they could slide down on it. It was hilarious!!!! We did that for about an hour.

For Father's Day we got Daddy an atlas for his pow wow trips, a set of liger post-it notes (Napoleon Dynamite), and some car washes. I have yet to fix dinner (it's only 9:30! The night is young!), but I think I'll also make a cake. Happy Everything!!!

A Grand Visit

It's been a while! We're having a great time this summer! Last weekend we went up to Grandma & Grandpa's house with Sarah, Liam, and Hazel. Angelo was in Costa Rica with Jaxson and Jason had gone to a powwow in the middle of nowhere Colorado.

We went and looked at a couple of horses for the kids. Both standing on their last leg! I'd love to ride again, but where do we put the poor thing?! Olivia wants it in her "backward".

Everyone was incredibly relaxed, especially Hazel and Georgia. They got a bath in the fancy "tub" at granma's. Our little princesses!

Olivia and Liam made pink ice cream in grandma & grandpa's new ice cream maker. They worked so well together! The ice cream was so good, but holy fat!

Well, we had an incredibly relaxing time except for Georgia's emergency room visit for her skin and a really high fever. She started "shivering" and we thought she might be in shock, so we took her in. They found an ear infection and bladder infection, but not until they took a rectal temp, gave her a popsicle, inserted a cathiter, cleaned up the mess after she wet all over the bed, and made us wait an hour for the lab results.

While we were waiting she started to fall asleep and in her sleep she was talking. She said, "oh, Bob". It was so funny. If I didn't know any better I'd say she was cheating on me!

Just Say "NO" to Tomatoes

We went to a timeshare that Aunt Connie graciously got for the family on Memorial Day in Park City. It was really nice. We spent time with Adrienne, Andy, and the girls (Gabi and Katelynn) and with Candace, Jonathan's "friend". The kids had a ball. However, Georgia ate a tomatoe out of my salad and blew up like a balloon. She was a little uncomfortable. But as you can see, we still made her carry the luggage.

We ate so much food and got to swim and hang out. Jason won't play games with me, so Adrienne and Candace did.

Olivia's birthday is next Thursday, the 8th. Her Uncle Colton and Aunt Lisa (soon to be anyway), sent her a scooter. She thought she was IT. She wore the goofy looking helmet and the elbow and knee pads all day today. She loves it.

Today we're on our way to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Jason went to a powwow in Colorado and for the first time in his life Isaac wanted to go with us instead. Jason attributes it to the fact that at the last powwow they didn't sing (when they drove all the way to NC), so Isaac doesn't want to invest all the driving for no drumming.
