Baby's 1st Powwow

Where's Wiv?

Mae's 1st powow she slept in the Moby wrap and in the drum circle

George likes to find treasures and make friends at the powwow. Forget the dancing.

They wouldn't allow the kids to sign up for the junior division, so they had to dance in the Tiny Tots. Isaac came walking over with his 2 bucks and said, "I only got 1."

"No, you got 2." I said.

"There's only a 1 on it!"

Last time he won second and got $75- he knows the difference!

the Mr.

It's been a long time since I dedicated an entire post to the Mr. Miss Sarah did one the other day and it inspired me to remind the world why I love my Chief.

So let's get corny with it...

J is for Journeys, hours and hours long journeys that you take with and without us in the car you crazy man. He says he missed his calling as a trucker. He reminds me, we could have made, "25,0000...A PIECE!" (remember that goofy commercial)? He is the ROAD WARRIOR. Could also have been "jammin"

A is for Accent, and for saying things like, "figured as much" and ol & wuo-der". Your Southern, Navajo roots make for an intense and fascinating combination in the language department. I once told him I wouldn't talk to our kids for the first two years so they'd sound like him. The only resmemblence to Jason speak we've got is when George says, "Staaa-nkay". Could also have been "antonym" (of me), or "attitude".

S is for Superhero, saving me from suppositories (that has officialy become a daddy duty), carrying me (and I'm no petite miss) up the stairs upon breaking my ankle. Keeping us from "mediocre holidays" and eating most of my cooking- Iron Stomach Man. Could also have been "shoe man".

O is for Optimism, seeing the light at the end of every tunnel, and sometimes illuminating it yourself. Could also have been "onery cuss". Just kidding.

N is for Nickels and Dimes, of which you've provided with great focus and ingenuity, especially the last month. You are a brilliant businessman and incredible provider. I've never been worried about putting dinner on the table, even the ones that really stink. I'll work on that buddy. Could also have been "nikes galore".

Roundy Family Pictures

Dave consented to family pictures on one condition, "I'm not going to do anything gay." Well, too bad, I have always wanted to do "gay" pictures. I guess I'm out of luck this time.

I think they turned out well. Every time I edit I think, I could have done this or should have done that. Well, that's what practice is for!!!
These folks are the salt of the earth! I've been blessed enough to have known them most of my life now. (Don't ask them too much about me, they know it all - at least Di does). One of the best families I've evern known and they come from two of the best I've ever known! I just love you guys!

Growing like a weed?

Mae seems to be growing out but not up, but she's cute as a button!

Evil McDonald's Grandma

We were at McD's last week, just about ready to leave in fact. When this happy looking character approached. (I can't seem to get the pic loaded- keep a sharp look out for a happy long-haired grandma who often wears fuscia and keeps a curly-haired victim with her at all times)
"I just thought you ought to know that your little girl (pointing at George, of course), pushed and kicked him (pointing to the little doe-eyed boy with her), and knocked him off the stairs and really hurt him."

"Oh, I'm sorry, thanks," I said as I turned to reprimand George. "Georgia, you walk over and tell..."

"Yeah, she really hurt him. She pushed him and kicked him and he really got hurt."

I turned and nodded. "Georgia, you go say you're sorry and you'll..."

"She was really mean to him and he was really hurt."

I nod without turning my head. By this time Georgia got my jist and was already on her way over to apologize when...

"She was really mean..."

"I understand completely. I heard what you said, THANK-YOU."

Good Heavens Above lady. What else do you want me to do. And I'm a spanker. I understand discipline. I appreciate the info chick. Once. I had to remain calm in front of my children.

Then we saw her happy little self at the carnival AND across the street from us at the parade!

"Days" In Utah

Do you people have "Days" too? We have Art City, Onion, Strawberry, Fiesta, just to name a few. Most of them look like this...(forgive my mispelled words- my brain is on summer vacation today for some reason)

What I neglected to photograph were politicians, including people asking us to "Vote Thayne" on So You Think You Can Dance, the cute baby contest winners (which always showcases the homeliest babies around), "Survivor" challengers scooping poop as the daily challenge, and some idiot orthodontist with a 6 wheeled jeep doing 360's at mach in a crowd of rowdy children racing into the street to get candy (perhaps he was trying to deter them from getting the candy?) The "Days" in Utah are probably not our best showing for the outside world, but we enjoy them anyhoo.

Baby Aubri

A friend of mine has a little redhead I photographed last week. Cutie pie, huh?

Puppy Love

If I had a penny for every time someone said to me, "Oh Brandy, you're going to have your hands full!" in reference to Georgia, I'd be able to pay off your debt and mine, maybe the National.

But then you see this.....

who's cuter?

She tells me all the time, she's my sunshine, my best friend and my baby. And she is all of the above. What in the world are we going to do with this one?

Forensics

Any forensic dentists in the bunch? What do you think did this?
........It was this little monster. Can you say braces in 5 years?

What's Hot, What's NOT

When we were watching the American Idol Finale last week, Carrie Underwood performed and as the camera followed her for her entrance Isaac shouted, "She's Hot!"

I laughed and said "Really? Who else is hot?"

"Naloni's Grandma, I mean, Aunt Cissy."

"She's hot, huh?"

"Yeah, and when I see her next time I'm going to say, 'You're Hot'."

He's right, she's hot!
Which reminds me of the time this winter I put on a v-neck sweater over a tank top and Olivia told me I looked pretty. Then she said, as she pulled the tank down to the v of the sweater, "I wish you were a honey."
I wish I were a honey too. I do my best little girl :)

Mae's First Bath

Then she gets a slathering of oatmeal vanilla lotion and you want to eat her for dessert.

The Weekend

Liv, Isaac, George, and Jason went to a powwow in Duschene and stayed with our friend's the Burson's.

We were in the winner's circle again!

(never had one lesson) ...Ferris Beuller

Isaac won second in the Boy's Traditional category

Liv got third (against some stiff comp. I hear), in Girl's Fancy Shawl

George was on her way out to dance in Tiny Tots and J told her to "go get 'em", and she walked out and clobbered a couple of kids before he could clarify. It's a wonder they didn't throw the white girl out!

This is what Mae and I did...

And a little of this...

Baby wearing is what it's all about folks.

Little Miss Mae

Sweet little Mae...
eats enough to double her birthweight (not really, but you'd think so!).
belches like a large grown man.
is such a beautiful little princess.

5/11/2008

Meet Mae

She is sooooo beautiful. Our new little princess. She is as sweet and calm as the day is long. She looks just like Liv did when she was born. She is named after Jason's Maternal Grandmother..

We are OVERJOYED!

So Blessed

Poor George is sick today. Jason took Isaac and Liv to a children's powwow (which I hear they are doing fabulously at), and so we've been snuggling on the couch all day until a few minutes ago.

She woke up and said she didn't hurt anymore, so we went for a walk. She threw up in a neighbor's yard as we walked around the block (poor thing), but as we walked up our sidewalk I had the overwhelming feeling of being soooo blessed to live where we do and have all we do.

As we wait for another addition it gets so nerve-wracking and there are spells of self-pity, but WOW, look at all I have, a georgious and healthy family (WE NOW HAVE VISION AND DENTAL INSURANCE!) and look at this lovely home, belongs on some Norman Rockwell postcard!

"Do this"

Isaac was trying to learn to ride a two-wheeler last year and I guess I'm a crummy teacher. So, we went to a birthday party and his buddy Jaxson got on and said, "Isaac, do this." So, Isaac got on and did this...

He's so talented athletically! I hope we can find some more boys that are up to speed like Jaxson to play with.
