Inflation

I need to tell Olivia's tooth fairy story....

The dentist pulled a tooth, so we told Olivia the tooth fairy story. She said she thought the tooth fairy would bring "two monies". So we figured with inflation, two dollars would work. Well, I did't have two ones, so I asked Jason if he had any cash. He said it was out in the car (I asked him while he was sleeping). So I asked my mom and she had another one. So, Olivia was sleeping in the guest room with my mom and when she fell asleep my mom took the tooth and put the $ in it's place.

Well, when Jason woke up (early), he realized he needed to get the cash I asked for and went to his car to find it. He only had a five and a one, so he went with it. He snuck into Liv's room (where she always goes back to in the middle of the night if she starts elsewhere), and put it under her pillow. He didn't find the tooth, but didn't want to wake her up, so he just left the $.

When we all woke up we asked Olivia what the tooth fairy had brought her. She went and looked under the pillow in the guest room (where my mom and I had directed her), and found the $2. But, Jason asked, "Is that all that was there?"...being confused. We all looked at eachother and Jason said, "Liv, go look under your pillow again," thinking he must have had two dollars stuck together. My mom and I caught on too late. She had found the other $6. She then took off looking under every pillow in the house while we laughed and laughed! She made out like a bandit! I guess she deserved it after what she went through to get that tooth to the fairy!

"We're Inian"

May 6, 2006
We just got back from Grandma & Grandpas house. Me and the girls got to hang out with Aunt Di. She is making 12, yes 12 quilts for her bunco group, so we helped.
Today we went to breakfast (that's a tradition with the grands), and got the fabric to make the girls' flower girl dresses for Colton's wedding. They are going to be ssooooooo pretty! We also fed the ducks at first dam (another tradition).
The night before we left Olivia and I knelt down to pray. She took my face in her hands and said, "You have to go alone. It will be a long journey. Follow your heart." There was a pause, so I asked her if she was done. She said "yeah", so we proceeded with our prayer. She's crazy! My kids watch "The Avatar" with Jason. I think that's where she came up with that. Diego's a bit more tame.
Poor Georgia has scratched her left ankle down to the meat. It's nasty. Well, it was. I have to put a bandage on her, socks (fuzzy ones), and chicky jammas (footed pajamas for the less educated). I'll add a pic.
We're going to get Liv dental work before her teeth rot and fall out! We received her Certificate of Indian Blood today. One small problem, it says she's 1/4 Nav. OOOPS! (this is a back-log, so I can add that Olivia's birth mom is 1/2 Zuni and her birth-dad is not on the birth certificate, so the C.I.B. was right).
Olivia & Isaac say, "We don't cut our hair. We're In-ian." So tonite I trimmed Georgia's rough looking head and Olivia sucked in her breath and repeated her mantra. I think she's over it. I told her I was fixing Georgia's hair.

The Long Drive

May 6, 2006
I have talked to Isaac and J since they've been gone. Jason says that boy was made for the road. You never hear a sound from him until all of a sudden, "Daddy I gotta pee!" Which Jason says means "I'm peeing my pants in 5, 4, 3, 2..." J says that boy can do no wrong out in NC. He is the only boy. Cissy has Naloni, and his dad and Gina have Miriah and Lia, so he's a rare commodity. He sounds so happy when they call. He says he's ready for the return trip tomorrow night. I asked him if he'd gone to the powwow and he said yes. Then I said, "Did you drum?", a pause and a deep, pitiful, from the bottomless pit of your soul, "no." was what I got in return. I quickly changed the subject. Jason said there was no one to sing with, so they just went to watch. Please pray for their safe trip home! Later Gaters.

They Say the Darndest Things

Just want to jot these down before I forget...

If you ask Georgia a question and she realizes it she always says either , "um" or "yaaaah"

Olivia loves to exclaim "woot-dee-doo, Power Puhh" (power pup)

Isaac and Liv both say "we don't cut our hair, we're in-ian"

Today on the phone Uncle Colton asked Olivia what she wanted for her birhday. The first thing she said was, "June eight." Then she said, "a pony, a phone, and a car." Then she followed it with "and I want two."

"I gonna get squished?" is the question they always ask if they know something is dangerous.

Georgia exclaims "MOM!" when she wants something (wants you to hand her something she sees. She also always says, "tet too" when you hand it to her.

NEW!

Speaking of "darndest" things, Isaac has taken up saying, "Damn" when something doesn't go his way. I say, "Crap!", don't know if it would be better or not if he said that...

When the kids ask a question to one of us (Jason or I), Georgia always says NO!

Olivia has started stating what it is she's going to do and then finishes with, "and that's a deal!"

Check back periodically for updates!

Blah, Blah, Blah

Not much exciting happening on the homefront. We're all preparing for Uncle Colt's wedding. We have to find accomodations in Seattle that don't cost an arm and a leg. Sarah and I are going to Vegas the beginning of June however! Jaxson will be in Costa Rica with his dad, so it will be us and ONLY 5 kids this time. We got a fun hotel to stay in and we're just going to play at the pool and walk the strip. It should be great to get away and relax (we're fooling ourselves into thinking that if we're away it will be a vacation...don't tell us anything different).

There's a little boy named Zach who's grandma lives next door. He comes over every once in a while and his mom lets him climb over the rickety fence between our houses and play with my kids. That doesn't bother me. What does is that he'll just walk in the house. HUH? Doesn't your mom teach you any manners? Well, Jason took the kids out for a while so I could work on some headers that I do for his business without the little bums bugging me and Zach scared the crap out of me by just walking in the back door and down the hall! Little bugger!

My garden is planted. I may go get some more plants for it today though. I raked off the top of one of the tomatoe plants, and I can't remember where I planted the bean seeds, so I may have raked up a couple of them also! What a dummy! I guess I won't know about those until they've been planted a few weeks and aren't coming up.

Trippin'

Georgia and I just returned from Seattle where we helped in the planning of Uncle Colt and soon-to-be Tanta Lisa's Aug. wedding. We had a ball and an excema flare-up. Mostly a ball. Lisa's the best! Uncle Colt got called out to pick up a jet the second day we were there, but made it back just in time to say good-bye. The moral of the story: When Ikea comes to Utah I'm going to live there with my friends Sarah and Di.
Sarah invited us to blog. She knows I don't have enough patience to take pen to paper, this is ingenious. As you can see, I stay up to all hours of the night, so that's when I'll get most of this done. My husband's waiting for me to go to bed right now, I can hear him sniffing (a sleepy clearing of the throat), so I'll get going.
OHHHH! Much tripage is the subject because he and baby Isaacc are going to North Carolina to visit Jason's family and attend graduation at UNC Pembroke this weekend. They leave tomorrow. Pray that they stay safe! Pray that Jason's patience holds out even after Isaac pees in his pants a couple of times and gets frustrated because his shoe's untied. Pray that my girls are good playmates while the age gap bridge is with Daddy. And, pray that my basement gets finished in our lifetiime.
I'm going to add some pics of a birthday party we attended at our neighbor's house. They had a petting zoo. It just reaffirmed how bad Olivia wants a rabbit.

Under the Influence & the Weather

Poor Jason and Isaac returned home with some exotic illness from North Carolina. It includes high fevers, coughing, sore throats, and fatigue. Such a joy! Isaac is like me when he's sick...a pain in the tush. We have the attitude, "If I'm sick I need to express to you in every way possible just how horrible I feel so you can share with me in this experience." At leas that's what Jason says. Now Georgia's got it. Isaac was taken to the instacare in Orem. They gave him an antibiotic for a secondary ear infection. That's it. So, I take Georgia today...same experience. You'd think I'd learn. We don't qualify for medicaid or any other type of assistance, and we don't make enough money to have private health insurance...it's wonderful to be middle class!

Poor litlle Olivia. She went in for oral surgery under conscious sedation today. I gave her a vallium crushed up into a drink and Jason and I were both telling her she better drink it, and she ended up getting too much in her mouth and spitting a lot of it out. So I worried that she wouldn't be relaxed enough when we got to the dentist. Well, by the first gas station she was hiccuping and began to chit-chat away! Then when we arrived she told me she had to go potty. When I helped her down from the chair she started walking tipsy-turvy toward the wall. I set her straight and the nurse and I got a good laugh out of it.They put her in the chair and gave her some laughing gas. Her eyes started to roll right away! They put the iv in her arm and when they were done she lifted her arm and looked at it. I said, "Yeah, you've got a tube in your arm!". She smiled and said, "Yeah!". The last thing she said was (smiling very wide meanwhile laying her head back), "I'm going to have sparkles like mama!" She has always admired the silver section of my bridges. Then she was OUT. She's had a lot more sleepinesss and nausea than pain in her teeth. My dad said she'd probably had so much pain in her teeth before that now they feel great!

Isaac thought she was a wack-job on the way home! She was moaning and drooling and trying to cry with a huge tongue. He just stared at her. He knew that with Georgia sick and Liv recovering he was going to have to fight for attention. So, he requested pizza on the way home. So he and I got to eat pizza while the girls slept. Our social worker, Errol, is retiring tomorrow. My mom came down to go to his party with us. On the way down she stopped and got us something to eat, a gift for Olivia to make her feel better, Georgia's prescription...she's the greatest! One time a lady was telling us about her grandaughter. She said she spit up and pooped a lot so she told her daughter to bring her by when all that was outgrown. I thought my mom would pass out! She LOVES those grandbabies!!!!

Olivia, Grandma & Georgia...Liv's still woozy from the anesthesia, Georgia's sick.

Wedgies & Weiners

Posted by Picasa We are going to try this new blogger. The Live Journal one was not so user friendly. I promise not to change it up on you again. Sarah and I are trying to get this going (she's doing an incredible job) so we can use it as our journal by printing it out every so often.

Got Colton's invite in the mail...it's beautiful. I helped stuff them when Georgia and I were there, but it was still a nice surprise to open it up. There wedding is going to be cool. Next week I'm dedicating to getting ready for the decorating and flowers. Sounds ghastly, but it's beautiful, red roses (black magic and lipstick), red lilies with yellow tips, hot pink sweet peas.

Sarah and I started working out together. I gave her Oprah's trainer's book for her birthday. Bob knows what he's talking about. We're feeling it today, in a good way!

We tried to go camping. We tried to go to Vegas. We're still in Springville. The vacation gods are against us so we had to make our own fun. We had Sarah's family and Adrienne and the girls (Andy had to work), over for a bbq. We were all eating and us ladies walked into the kitchen and what do you know, the guys started a dodge ball game with the kids. They were so rough and the kids laughed so much! We had some pools out and sprinklers, etc. Olivia had her two-year-old swimsuit on which shows too much cleavage and buns (see photo). We had a great laugh.

I am now moving on to making this blog so cool you'll be jealous of me.
